Studysea was founded, under its current name, in 2013 by Mickey Kromann-Jensen who is an international education consultant. Mickey is also a former study-abroad student himself and has studied in Lithuania, Minnesota, Hawaii and Vietnam.
Previously, Mickey represented some of the leading operators within international education, including Hawaii Pacific University, Queen’s University Belfast and INTO University Partnerships. In his latest assignment in South East Asia, Mickey realized the potential the region has as a study destination for international students. In the summer of 2013, the Danish website Studysea.dk was launched with the aim of building a bridge between Denmark and South East Asia in an educational context. In 2014, Studysea sent the first cohort of students abroad for studies.
In 2014, cooperation started with a number of select universities in South East Asia with Monash University Malaysia as our first partner. Since then, we have expanded our network to also offer study counseling to students that wish to study outside South East Asia.
Today, Studysea collaborates with more than 80 universities located in more than 20 different countries across America, Asia, Europe, The Middle East and Oceania. In 2024, Studysea received the prestigious Børsen Gazelle award, as the only university recruitment agency in Denmark. The award is given to Denmark’s fastest growing companies.
